Speakers Committee
During the course of the year, we aim to schedule 2 speakers on a business topic of interest
to the group, generally on networking, marketing or speaking skills.
Speakers Committee Duties:
The Speakers Committee is responsible for:
1. Identifying speakers (with help from the group).
2. Evaluating speaker and topic.
3. Scheduling speaker.
• Check available dates on calendar posted on website.
• If there is conflict with a member spotlight, calling member directly to change date.
• Inform president and webmaster of revised dates.
• Following up with speaker after event: send a thank you note on behalf of EF.
Speaker Guidelines
1. Speakers address the group for 40 minutes which includes a question and answer period.
2. The presentation must be oriented around a particular topic it is not a sales presentation although speakers may briefly mention their services.
3. Speakers may use presentation equipment. To borrow a projector and screen, contact Jeff Shearman.
4. Speakers may bring handouts or other materials. Anticipate 20 to 30 people.
5. Speakers are not paid. The appeal to speakers is access to a group of 20 professionals,
and may distribute their business cards and brochures at the meeting.
